QuickBooks Desktop for Mac: run the Windows edition

QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and the Premier industry editions are Windows-only, and many accountants and add-ons work with the Windows edition. CrossDriver App runs it on your Mac.

Every Pro feature is free during the preview, until December 31, 2026

Intuit's Mac edition is a separate product with fewer features, and Enterprise has never had a Mac version. Company files, reports and third-party integrations built for the Windows edition need the Windows app.

What you get with the Windows version

  • QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24, Premier Plus and Pro Plus 2024 (US)
  • Company files and QuickBooks' own database server
  • Intuit's trial and subscription licensing, handled by QuickBooks itself

Versions with a ready-made setup

Pick one in the Setup Center of CrossDriver App. It creates its own environment, installs the components the app needs and runs the official installer; you bring the installer and your license.

QuickBooks Desktop 2024 (Windows) Experimental

QuickBooks Desktop 2024 (R21) for Windows, US

Run the Windows edition of QuickBooks Desktop (Enterprise 24 / Pro Plus / Premier Plus 2024) on your Mac: company files, the database server and Intuit's trial / subscription licensing.

What you need Bring your own Intuit license (or use Intuit's 30-day Enterprise trial). CrossDriver does not touch Intuit's licensing.

Good to know
  • The installer and QuickBooks need the Internet (license check, sample files, updates); the container reports its real network status.
  • Click "QuickBooks License Agreement" on the first installer page to show the "I accept" box, then Continue.
  • "Missing PDF component" at start-up: Intuit's PDF printer driver cannot be installed in the compatibility layer, so QuickBooks' own Save as PDF is unavailable for now.
  • Keep company files inside the container (Documents) or on a local disk; multi-user hosting over the network has not been verified.

The labels are the ones the App shows. Experimental: works in our tests but not yet verified end to end on every Mac. Known issues: works, with the limits listed.
